The Creality Ender 3 3D printer is a DIY machine to assemble that succeeds the Ender 2 but no longer has much in common with the previous generation. The print volume increases to 220 × 220 × 250 mm, which brings the Ender3 closer to the CR-10S from the same Chinese manufacturer.

Creality3D manages to sell the Ender-3 for less than €200 (it can sometimes be found for around €150) with a heated bed, a BuildTak and resume after printing interruption. This Prusa i3 mk3 base also includes a control screen and can be assembled in less than two hours. The instructions are not always very detailed, we recommend following this tutorial to assemble the Ender-3.

With a resolution of 100 microns and a maximum printing speed of 200 mm/s, the Ender 3 accepts PLA, TPU and even ABS with a diameter of 1.75 mm. The Ender3 can be used independently from the integrated screen and gcode files on a microSD card (provided). In terms of management from a computer, Creality recommends using the Ultimaker Cura application. This video tutorial will help you configure the printing parameters if you want to customize them, but the Cura software includes a profile dedicated to the Creality Ender-3. Otherwise, the Creality 3D forum offers custom profiles for the Ender 3 as well as upgrades to upgrade it at a lower cost.

In 2019, Creality created the Ender-3 Pro as an evolution of the classic Ender3 and an even more significant evolution is coming out in mid-2020, the Ender-3 v2 and at the end of 2021 the Ender-3 S1. At the end of 2023, an Ender-3 V3 SE becomes the new generation entry-level, the Ender-3 V3 KE innovates with WiFi and Klipper. In 2024, the Ender-3 V3 changes architecture to adopt the CoreXZ.
